RESCORE is a technology company committed to connecting business owners to vetted resources through coaching and online training on a unified social learning platform to build and grow their businesses. Our vision is to help communities harness the power of their experience and knowledge as a collective and share that by leveraging technology and social learning.
The RESCORE team knows that to help a community truly, you have to understand them. As stewards of the small business community, we work to create an intimate relationship with the communities we help by becoming a part of them before we invite them to become part of ours. By taking an extra step and meeting businesses where they are, we can further understand how to develop products and resources to serve them better. This engagement may include being part of a coach’s cohort, participating in an instructor’s online course, or using a vendor’s product. We work diligently to find creative and honest ways to vet businesses and allow them to get to know us. It’s extra work, but it’s the extra work we as small business owners need.
Problem

Impact
RESCORE, established in April 2021, has welcomed close to 100 small businesses into our community. We have connected many as their needs and expertise align. For others, we have directed them toward the coaching or educational resources they sought. We have partnered with organizations willing to assess these business owners through objective systems and measures, leading them to a logical and proven next step.
While we are proud of the connections we have made in our company’s short life, we have a lot more work to do if we are going to put a dent into the failure rate of our small business community. With resources, continued execution of efficient systems and workflows, and the help and support of larger for-profit and non-profit organizations, we will achieve the success we seek.
YOUR big WHY
Our platform is being built out of necessity, not opportunity. Being labeled as an underserved community is not a badge of honor, and we no longer want to see it as a CRY for help. We are encouraged by our opportunity to change how we are viewed and how we can leverage our collective strength to create something new and innovative in the business world and our respective communities alike.
Being part of an underrepresented community helps us identify where we are, not where we can go; that is up to us. Without having experienced the challenges we, as educated black women and men, have faced with building something on our own, we would not have realized the more significant systemic problem that plagues our larger community. We won’t stop being minorities, nor will our children. We won’t stop being Black men, Black women, Latinx.
We will stop the perception that we can’t build, own, and grow sustainable businesses that change our communities. We will change the conversation from questions of the capability to confidence in sustainability. We aren’t angry; we aren’t tired. We are excited; we are motivated, and we are ready to create.
